Imagine your child sitting in a classroom and taking part in a discussion with children in California, or visiting the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art without having to leave North Kansas City. These ideas are now viable opportunities thanks to a partnership between DataShack and liNKCity.
Brooks Brown, partner in DataShack, and North Kansas City Alumni wanted to give today’s youth the opportunity to experience the classroom that he could only dream of while he was attending North Kansas City High School. So he approach the management staff at liNKCity with an idea 100 times its weight in gold. Mr. Brown wanted to offer the North Kansas City School District a gigabit connection.
With the wheels set in motion a partnership between DataShack and liNKCity was formed. Both organizations had only one objective in mind in was the help better prepare the students of North Kansas City for the future.
With books and pencils now being a thing of the past the gigabit connection will allow students a more mobile way of learning. The gigabit connection allows students to take their learning farther by accessing software programs and online curriculum that will advance their success in the classroom. Students will also be able to explore new topics not covered in traditional textbooks, and experiment with new interest not currently available to students in the Midwest.
The gigabit connection was provided to the North Kansas City School District free of charge as venture between DataShack and liNKCity. The gigabit service was successfully installed on October 18th, 2012 and launched on January 5th, 2013 allowing students to explore and create just as the school year was hitting its full stride.
Both DataShack and liNKCity know that the possibilities are now endless for today’s youth and hope that with this new service will help students accomplish their dreams…..now only 100 times faster!
